Winter Carriage & Sleigh Rides

Liberty Farm offers horse-drawn carriage services by appointment year-round, with seasonal schedules, equipment, and capacity limitations.

Please review the current schedule and booking availability before reserving a ride. Guests are responsible for reviewing and agreeing to Liberty Farm’s cancellation and weather policies prior to booking.

Updates regarding scheduling, weather-related changes, and last-minute availability are posted through Liberty Farm’s official channels.

Winter carriage and sleigh rides at Liberty Farm are available by appointment only and are subject to seasonal equipment and safety limitations. Seating capacity, ride type, routes, and scheduling decisions are determined by Liberty Farm based on conditions at the farm.

Private Winter Carriage & Sleigh Rides at Liberty Farm (By Appointment)

Season: December through mid-March (weather and ground conditions permitting)

Liberty Farm offers private, appointment-only winter carriage and sleigh rides on a limited, availability-based basis. Services are offered only when conditions, horses, staffing, and equipment allow.

Private Winter Ride: $95.00​

  • Pricing is per ride, not per person

  • Maximum capacity: four (4) adults and up to two (2) children under 50 lbs.

  • Capacity is determined by equipment, safety, and seating configuration

  • Capacity limits may not be exceeded under any circumstances

Ride Experience & Conditions

 

Rides are intended to be a leisurely outing, with duration and experience varying based on horse pace, footing, weather, and safety conditions on the day of service.

Ride type (carriage or sleigh) is determined solely by Liberty Farm based on conditions at the farm. Routes may include Liberty Farm property and nearby areas and are not guaranteed.

Sleigh Ride Policy

 

Sleigh rides require frozen ground and sufficient snow coverage and are never guaranteed.

If sleigh conditions are not suitable on the day of your reservation, Liberty Farm will provide a wagon or carriage ride of equal duration instead.

If conditions are unsafe for any ride, Liberty Farm will work with you to reschedule for another suitable date.

The safety of guests, horses, and staff is the primary consideration in all operational decisions.

Cancellation, Rescheduling, Weather, and Pet Policy

Liberty Farm has implemented strict policies regarding cancellations, rescheduling, weather conditions, and pets. Please carefully review the following guidelines before booking. By booking, you agree to these terms.​

Cancellation Policy (Absolutely No Refunds)

  • All reservations and purchases, including special occasions, holidays, food, and beverages, must be paid in full when booking.

  • ALL SALES ARE FINAL. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

  • Your booking reserves a specific, limited-capacity appointment time that is removed from availability and cannot reliably be refilled on short notice; therefore, cancellations result in unrecoverable loss of opportunity and operational costs.

  • Reservations and purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Liberty Farm operates in a safety-critical, animal-based environment. In the event of unforeseen circumstances or reasons beyond our control, including but not limited to laminitis, sickness, other health-related concerns, environmental causes, or equipment malfunctions, Liberty Farm reserves the right to cancel, postpone, shorten, substitute equipment, or modify services as necessary for safety and animal welfare.

  • If Liberty Farm cancels service for any reason, your sole remedy is rescheduling as described below (pending availability). No refunds will be issued.

  • Failure to notify Liberty Farm of a rescheduling request at least 72 hours in advance via text, phone call, or Messenger will result in the forfeiture of your booking and the rescheduling option.

 

Rescheduling Policy (One-Time Reschedule; Discretionary)

  • With a 72-hour notification before your scheduled booking, Liberty Farm may offer a one-time reschedule on the schedule you are currently booked, pending availability.

  • Rescheduling is a courtesy accommodation and does not create any right to a refund, transfer, or credit. No refunds apply.

  • When rescheduling, Liberty Farm will only reschedule the entire party. Individual ticket refunds for additional persons within your booking are not provided under any circumstances.

  • Food and drink orders, if any, may be transferred to your new date pending availability, provided the reschedule is made within our required 72-hour timeframe.

  • If our makers are unavailable for your newly selected time/date, you will be promptly notified of the next steps.

  • Should you choose to cancel and not reschedule, the reservation is forfeited. No refunds apply.

 

Weather Policy (No Refunds)

  • Liberty Farm will provide service under most weather conditions, such as light rain, snow, and wind; however, the safety of our guests and horses is our top priority. If conditions are too severe or dangerous (including heavy rain, blizzards, sleet, hail, lightning, and icy conditions), we reserve the right to postpone, reschedule, shorten, substitute equipment, or cancel our services due to unsafe weather conditions, pandemic-related directives, or the horses' health.

  • Liberty Farm reserves the right to determine what conditions are safe to operate in and will decide up to three days before your scheduled booking whether a weather-related change is required. We may also make this determination the night before or the morning of your scheduled booking and will contact you via automated text, email, or phone call to notify you if your booking is adjusted due to weather or other reasons beyond our control.

  • Service shortened by the client once begun for any reason will not be rescheduled and is considered complete. No refunds apply.

  • For sleigh rides, we need frozen ground and a sizable snowfall to provide this service. If conditions are unsuitable for sleighing on the day of your reserved ride, Liberty Farm will substitute your sleigh ride with a wagon ride of the same length. If conditions are not ideal for either a sleigh or wagon ride, Liberty Farm may reschedule you for our next available date.

  • Carriage/wagon/sleigh ride routes are determined at the sole discretion of Liberty Farm staff and are not negotiable. No refunds are given should you decide to postpone or cancel your service with us due to the weather conditions or lack thereof.

 

Pet Policy / Service Dog Safety Distinction (Strict)

  • For the safety and biosecurity of our farm, pets are not allowed on the premises, including our private residence and areas where our livestock guardian dogs are located. The presence of pets can disrupt our operations and lead to cross-contamination.

  • We kindly ask that all guests arrange alternative care for their pets during their visit. Any guests arriving with pets will be asked to leave, and no refunds will be issued.

  • Service dog distinction (safety-based): Trained service dogs are permitted on tractor-drawn rides only, provided the dog remains under the handler’s control at all times and does not interfere with safe operation. Service dogs (and all animals) are not permitted on or alongside horse-drawn carriage/sleigh rides due to safety risks associated with horses as flight animals and the working-farm environment. If a trained service dog is required, the appropriate option is a tractor-drawn ride (when available). No refunds apply.

 

Notice

  • No On-Site Restroom: Liberty Farm does not have a public restroom available on-site. Guests must plan accordingly and use restroom facilities before arriving.

  • You must provide accurate information upon booking to avoid having your reservation forfeited. Upon completing your booking, you will automatically receive a receipt, confirmation email, and text message (if applicable). These messages contain vital information such as directions, additional details about your ride, and a link to sign our mandatory participant agreement before your scheduled ride. If you encounter difficulties sending the waiver to your guests, they can sign it upon arrival; however, service will not be provided unless waivers are completed.

  • Waiver Completion Requirement: If all required waivers are not completed by the scheduled start time (whether in advance or upon arrival), the booking will be treated as a no-show/forfeiture and is considered canceled by the client; no refunds apply, and rescheduling is at Liberty Farm’s sole discretion.

  • You must not book a private ride for another person or party. Instead, you must purchase a digital or physical gift certificate for the intended recipients. This is necessary to ensure accurate information is processed for confirmations, reminders, and liability waivers. Provide accurate information to avoid the receiving party being turned away or receiving a shortened ride. We will not make any exceptions to this policy.

  • All important notices, including weather updates and rescheduling information, will be sent electronically. If the person who made the booking is not part of the attending party, they will not receive the necessary information and cannot reschedule. This will result in the forfeiture of your reservation. We strictly enforce this policy and will not make any exceptions.

 

Payment Disputes / Chargebacks (Not an Authorized Cancellation Method)

  • Chargebacks and payment disputes are not an authorized form of cancellation and do not override these policies.

  • If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute for a charge that is consistent with this policy, Liberty Farm will provide the payment processor and/or card issuer with documentation supporting the reservation terms, booking confirmation, waiver requirement notices, and related communications.

  • You remain responsible for all amounts owed under the booking terms, and you agree to reimburse Liberty Farm for any documented administrative or dispute-related costs imposed on Liberty Farm by payment processors or financial institutions to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law and any applicable payment network rules.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our cancellation, rescheduling, weather, pet, and notice policy. These guidelines are in place to ensure the safety of our guests, horses, staff, and farm operations.
